Musical Background

I have been playing piano as a solo pianist and also with various groups since 1956. I have been teaching piano since 1960. I started my piano teaching career at the Waukesha Music Center.  I studied classical piano for 10 years and have a minor in music from Carroll College. I studied piano & music theory with Ray Santisi through the Stan Kenton Music Clinics. Ray was an instructor for 57 years at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. Ray died in October 2014. He was one of several pianists for the Boston Pops Orchestra.

Local Venues where I have played include: The Red Mill, Grenadier’s, and the Golden Mast. I have played piano in hotels and casinos in Boston (Tremont), San Francisco (Top of the Mark and the Fairmont), Salzburg, Austria (Bristol), Innsbrook, Austria (Casino) and Crown Plaza, (Rome). I have played in bands with musicians that had worked with Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey, Bunny Berrigan, Benny Goodman, Ray Anthony, Stan Kenton and Woody Herman.

I also have played on Royal Caribbean Ships. I have been playing on cruise ships for over 20 years.

I particularly enjoy the music from the older movies and Broadway Shows. Some of favorite composers are George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Irving Berlin, Richard Rogers and Jerome Kern. I also like to play the songs made popular by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Dinah Washington, and Judy Garland.

Other Background Information

I have a B.S. degree in Business and minor in music from Carroll College. I have an MBA degree from Michigan State University. I taught Math and Computer Courses at Milwaukee Area Technical College for 37 years. I retired in May of 2006
